Debra Harrison, Founder and President / Volunteer
Hi. I’m Debra Harrison, owner of Debra's Princess Designs LLC. We make fashion dog collars, and a variety of dog clothing.
I guess you could say my love for animals started when I was a child. My family let me take in many stray cats and dogs, one at time of course... At an early age I knew I wanted to help and nurture these adoring animals. My love and dedication brought me here today with the support of my husband and three sons. I just knew there should be a reason for my sensitive love for pets. I've worked with many dog and cat rescues.
But wait don’t we need to stop the over population so the rescues don’t have to work so hard.
The idea developed when my daughter in-law came to me upset about a stray cat who had 4 kittens under her grandmother’s porch. I was devastated that this was happening. Did I have my head in the sand? That was it. I asked if she could catch them and we would take them to my veterinarian to have shots and get the mother spayed. I also called many rescues until I found one to find them a home. We knew the mother cat would have a better chance at adoption and life if she was spayed. With limited funds we spayed mama and found homes for two of the kittens with the expectation that the new parents would do the right thing and have them spay and neutered as well. A local rescue found homes for the other two.
When I did the research and realized how many little lives we saved which prevented future litters from disease and abuse. I knew I was going to BE THE DIFFERENCE.

Mary Straus, Vice President, Volunteer
My name is Mary L Strauss, I am the owner of Canine Angels Inc., which manufactures Protective Elbow Sleeves for dogs for 9 years. I am a volunteer with Therapy Dogs International, we visit nursing homes and hospitals for the past 10 years. Also I am a dog owner and have 4 wonderful dogs of my own. I feel that the best way to stop strays from reproducing more dogs and cats is to have them spayed/neutered. This foundation is being put into place to help those people who can't afford to get their dogs or cats spayed/neutered. Hopefully helping with this great problem of more dogs and cats than homes for them.
